Q : How can I apply for a position at First Security Group?
A : The best way to apply for a position at First Security Group is to use our website.
We have especially developed the Careers section of the website to streamline and facilitate the recruitment process. The website gives you the chance to check all current openings and apply for any of the open positions or simply upload your CV for future vacancies.

Q : When shall I expect a reply to my online application?
A : Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications we receive, we are only able to respond to the short-listed candidates. In case your qualifications and experience match our recruitment requirements, you will be contacted within two weeks in order to proceed with a personal interview. Otherwise, you may assume that your application has not been successful.

Q : Does First Security Group provide accommodation and transportation?
A : Yes, the company provides free shared accommodation and transportation for all security guards and technical staff. At the present moment, the other operational positions and administrative posts are not entitled to these benefits and receive a housing allowance in return.

Q : Can I make a claim as an individual?
A : Yes! As long as there is a legal document between you and the debtor. Our Legal advisors can assist you in assessing the validity of your claim at no cost and help negotiate the difficult process of recovery in the UAE on a performance basis.

Q : How long will a collection take?
A : All recovery operations are different. Where the Courts become involved the process can be lengthy. Corporate Services is experienced and connected. We can speed the process up and take the time to follow up the case and communicate with the legal authorities and the debtor in many cases. This frees you up to focus on other new business.

Q : What work experiences must I have to apply for a senior security guard position?
A : The work experience required to qualify for this occupation varies depending on the value of the site and the systems used.
If you want to work as a CCTV monitoring guard, you must have computer skills. Some clients require the guard to check the invoices, delivery material, receipts on computers, in which case knowledge of computers is required.
If you want to work as a security guard at the airport, you need to have good experience as an x-ray technician or you must have atleast one year of experience working in the same line.

Q : What courses will help me get a good security position?
A : Go for English Spoken/Written courses and complete it.
Go for a course in First Aid – Contact our Health and Safety Division located at the Dubai Tennis Stadium for more details on the courses.
Go for a course in Fire Awareness.

If you carry all these certificates for your interview, and if you have a Pleasing personality, you will get selected for a good position.

Q : What is the career growth for a Security Guard in First Security Group?
A : You will join as a guard, if your performance is good you may be promoted at any time as a Team Leader. After you gain good experience as a Team Leader and show your abilities to supervise and control 20-25 personnel, you may be promoted as a Security Supervisor. If you have UAE Driving License and have good knowledge of all the roads in and around Dubai, you may be promoted as a Patrolling Supervisor.

Q : What is the regular working hours for Security Guards?
A : For many years now in Dubai, all security companies have been providing guards to clients to work for 12 hours. The clients also prefer this as they have to pay for 2 guards for a 24-hr security service. As the job is routine, the guards lose interest in the job and commits mistakes.
In order to ensure quality service, First Security Group requests the clients to choose 8-hour shifts for the guards so that the guards don’t get fatigued easily and perform well in their jobs.

Q : How do you screen applicants?
A : FSG thoroughly screens all applicants. Applicants background, criminal records, fingerprints etc will be checked. All applicants should be good health and should not have committed any serious criminal offenses. Some applicants need to give references who can speak positively about their character.
Generally the Company looks to hire candidates that are mentally alert, emotionally stable, and physically fit. The reason being, clients look for guards that can communicate well.

Q : What benefits will the company give me?
A : You will be provided with an employment visa.
You will be required to work for 2 years with the Company.
You will be paid a salary of AED1000.
You will be provided with free accommodation and transportation.
You will be given 60 days of paid leave with air ticket upon completion of 2 years of service with the Company.
You will be given medical insurance and end of service benefits in accordance with the UAE labour laws.

Q : When can I expect a promotion?
A : Your Supervisors will be continuously monitoring your progress in each duty post and also check on your performance from the clients. You will be further selected to undergo a training with the in-house team. After observing your performance assessing your skills and abilities your name will be referred for promotions by your immediate Supervisors.

Q : What is the duration of the training?
A : Varies from 1 to 5 days. Standard syllabus courses cannot be changed, but clients frequently request customized courses to their specifications.

Q : What type of training do we provide?
A : All levels of first aid, basic fire safety, water safety up to and including professional lifeguard, basic health and safety issues such as manual handling and lifting, VDU use, etc. In fact anything to do with an individuals safety.

Q : What certificates do they receive?
A : First aid and water safety courses are accredited by the STA UK, and registered with the UK Health and Safety Council (HSC), so are truly international. All other courses are recognized by all the UAE government departments, and our trainers are all registered with DOHMS, etc.

Q : Do we get a discount?
A : Corporate clients can qualify for a discount, and we also look very favourably at charitable organizations and individual self-help groups.

Q : Where can the training be held?
A : We have a training facility at the Dubai Tennis Stadium in Al Garhoud, or we can hold corporate courses at the clients premises. We have also held courses for smaller groups in their villa/apartment and clubs, etc. Our strangest venue was probably an open quarry site!

Q : What payment methods are acceptable?
A : Corporate clients can use any of the usual payment terms. Individuals usually pay on the day by cash or cheque. We regret we cannot accept credit card payment at this time.

Q : Do we provide lunch?
A : Tea/coffee is provided during the breaks, but to keep course costs to a minimum we do not provide lunch. However our facility is situated in the heart of Century Village, one of the best restaurant areas in Dubai!

Q : How many people can we train?
A : Our international accrediting organizations often have a maximum number per course, usually 12 or 14, which we cannot exceed. Locally accredited courses can be held for larger numbers, or we can even hold a workshop or seminar for really large groups. Tell us your needs! Conversely we offer an “open programme” at our training facility in the Dubai Tennis Stadium so you can even attend as an individual.

Q : Are they recognized by the local authority?
A : All our trainers are registered with DOHMS at municipality level and Ministry of Health at federal level. FSG are authorized to train by the police, civil defence, etc.
