Description

An introductory course designed to provide a basic knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety relevant to the workplace. The course can be tailored to the workplace environment of the client.

Objective

To raise delegates' awareness of the potential for short and long-term Health and Safety implications of their actions on the environment in which they work and improved safety procedures.

• Basic Principles of Occupational Health and Safety
• Understanding Workplace Hazards
• Introduction to Risk Management
• Fire Safety
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
• Dealing with Accidents

Training Methods

Lectures / demonstrations / video and practical exercises.

Student Assessment

Continual/Progressive.

Validity

On success - certificate of attendance .

Entry Requirements

Candidates should have some spoken English and be free from conditions which would impair their lifting efficiency.
