Description

This course is aimed at employees who handle or deal with hazardous or toxic substances.

Objective

To provide trainees who have not received any previous training with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills necessary to identify hazardous substances, handle them correctly and carry out correct procedures in an emergency.

Syllabus

• Understanding Hazardous Substances Recognise and Understand Warning Signs and Panels
• Exposure Risks – Employee Precautions
• Control Measures – Their Use and Purpose
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Exposure Monitoring and Health Surveillance
• Management of Chemical Incidents

Training Methods

Lectures / demonstrations / video and practical exercises.

Student Assessment

Continual/Progressive.

Validity

On success - certificate of attendance.

Entry Requirements

Candidates should have spoken English.
