FA006 : Oxygen Administration

Description

This is a specialist First Aid course to standards approved by the UK Health & Safety Executive. The aim of this module is to provide appropriate, ongoing, structured training to relevant staff who are responsible to perform resuscitation as and when necessary.

Objective

This course is designed to train staff who do not necessarily hold a first aid certificate, in the administration of oxygen insufflations relating to its benefit, maintenance of the resuscitation kit and its safety procedures.

Syllabus

• Incident Management and CPR Refresher Physiology and Breathing
• Identification and Maintenance of Kit
• Resuscitation Kit Use
• Casualty Management – Oxygen Protocols
• The Handover and Aftermath of/for the patient

Training Methods

Lectures / demonstrations / practical and role playing exercises.

Student Assessment

Continuous assessment, candidates must show competency in the above skills throughout the course.

Validity

3 years from date of successful completion of the course

Entry Requirements

Delegates should have prior CPR skills.
