FA004 : Paediatric First Aid

Description

This is a specialist First Aid course to standards approved by the UK Health & Safety Executive.

Objective

To provide anyone who works or deals with children or babies, and who have not received any previous training, with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills necessary to apply First Aid to save life and prevent further injury.

Syllabus

• Managing an Incident Baby / Child Casualty Management Baby / Child
• Initial Assessment
• Child/Baby Specialist CPR Skills
• Choking

Training Methods

Lectures / demonstrations / practical and role playing exercises.

Student Assessment

Continuous assessment, candidates must show competency in the above skills throughout the course.

Validity

3 years from date of successful completion of the course.

Entry Requirements

As the course is primarily practical skills and visual in nature, very limited English is acceptable for corporate groups with a translator in the group.
