FA001 : First Aid Appointed Person

Description

The aim of the National Rescue Standard for Appointed Persons (NaRS [APP]) is to enable a candidate to be able to act as an appointed person to take charge of the first aid arrangements, including looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the emergency services when required.

Objective

To provide trainees who have not received any previous training with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills necessary to react to an incident and apply first aid to save life and restrict further injury and damage.

  • Priorities of First Aid
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation – Adult
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Introduction to First Aid Theory

Lectures / demonstrations / practical exercise / video

Student Assessment

Continuous assessment, candidates must show competency in the above skills throughout the course.

Validity

3 years from date of successful completion of the course.
