High-hazard, Low-risk, Low-hazard, High-risk

Security is required for reasons that may be high-hazard, but are hopefully low-risk. Safety concerns can be low-hazard, but as experienced security personnel will relate, they are often high-risk.

Nowadays the security officers performing their duties in the open, public areas are far more likely to have a safety issue to deal with than a security incident. High-tech devices and systems can aid them to prevent a theft, detect bomb or smoke, but can they be of help when someone is in need of first aid? Guards are equipped with the latest technology but are they equipped to deal with the safety issues? Facility management and security companies should think about it.
