FIRST SECURITY GROUP TEAM WINS DUBAI INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2011:

Under the patronage of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Security Group sponsored team; Al Ittihad Alexandria overcame a Filipino line-up to win the 22nd Dubai International Basketball Championship. The successful event was held at the Al-Ahli Club in the Emirate between 20th and 29th January 2011.

Having made it through the group stages with only one defeat, the First Security side won their semi-final against a Lebanese team in extra time in a hard fought contest. In the final game, the loss early on of one of their key players, Darren Kelly, did not distract the team from their march to victory as they overcame an eleven point half-time deficit. Kelly won the award as Best Playmaker of the Tournament.

This was the first time that FSG has sponsored a team in the tournament and the CEO of FSG, H.E. Major General (Ret) Abdul Aziz Al Bannai commented;
